We believe in living slowly and cherishing every moment. Our backpacks are lovingly handmade in Nepal from sustainable hemp fibre; one of the most sustainable fibres on earth.

They are skilfully crafted by small family-run businesses in Kathmandu; a city full of rich heritage and culture. Our hemp is grown, harvested and spun in Bajura village in the Himalayas. It is woven by women using traditional techniques passed on through generations.

Every order placed with Hemp & Hope helps to replenish forests around the world! We work with the non-profit organisation Ecologi who use our donation to plant trees on your behalf! You don't even have to pay a penny extra! You can track our progress in our virtual forest! CLICK HERE

Hello! Im Danielle, the founder of Hemp & Hope. In August 2019, I took an eye-opening backpacking trip around India and Nepal. I was blown away by the breath-taking sunsets, architecture and culture; But for the first time in my sheltered life, I was confronted with extreme poverty and polluted streets. I had a huge wakeup call as I realised the role, I had to play in all of this. The choices I made when buying clothing directly impacted people's lives. By buying into 'fast fashion', I contributed to a cycle of poverty, dangerous working conditions and waste. After seeing this first-hand, I decided I had to make a change, and so the idea for Hemp & Hope was born!

We met with suppliers in Nepal who made beautiful bags from sustainable Hemp fibre. We visited their factory and made sure they were working fairly and in a safe environment. We bought a small package of backpacks, and upon returning home, I set up a new business!

We design all of our bags and clothing here in Scotland, UK and have them made by our wonderful makers in Nepal. Our hemp is harvested and spun by women in Baglung and Bajura Villages in the Himalayan mountains. It is then sent to Kathmandu and Pokhara to be made into our garments.

We want to be much more than just a brand! We refuse to contribute to the problem and have sworn to be a part of the solution. Thank you for joining us on this slow fashion journey!

International Delivery

Shipping is calculated accurately by weight at checkout. We ship with DHL using a fully tracked international service. Please allow extra time due to Brexit and COVID-19 in particular to Greece.

EU duties and Taxes are pre-paid at checkout, you won't have to pay extra on delivery.

Shipment to Germany: 6- 10 Days
Shipment to the rest of Europe: 8 – 14 Days
Shipment to USA & Canada: 6 – 13 Days
Shipment to the rest of the world: 7 – 14 Days

Despatch Times

We aim to despatch all orders made before 2pm however this is not guaranteed. Orders placed after 2pm will be despatched the next working day. Our warehouse is closed Saturday and Sunday - weekend orders will be despatched Monday.

Returns

If the item isn't right for you, we offer 30 day returns on all products. (orders purchased after the 5th of July 2022 - 14 day return policy will apply) As long as the item is unworn, unwashed and in resell-able condition we will accept your return no questions asked.
